I’m Lora—the one on the right—and I’ve been an artist for as long as I can remember.
Like many creative people, I was told to make a living I needed a corporate job. So, I put down my paint brush, got a degree, and got a job. I had a fantastic career supporting global sales executives. I loved the work and had a lot of fun, with plenty of chances to use my creativity and graphic design skills.
But it's time to pick up the paint brush and embrace life as a full-time artist.
Southern Exposure Bay House will become my home and home to my art studio and shop, The Wired Canvas. My hope is to create a bayside studio and art center where I can offer open studio time and workshops.
To make this even more of an adventure, I'm bringing my parents, Dick and Kathy (both in their 80s) to live with me at the bay house. The photo above was taken in 2016 at their 50th wedding anniversary celebration. In 2026, they celebrated 60 years together!
My sister, Hollie Tew (pictured on the left) lives next door and will be a big part of this adventure. We'll also have the rest of the family helping out—the kids, the grandson, the five dogs and the duck (yes, Hollie has a pet duck)!
Each week, I’ll share a short video about our progress. Honestly, it is going to be a hot mess as we bring together the contents of three houses! There will be plenty to sort, move, sell, donate and just try to figure out.
I'd love for you to come along for the adventure and see how it unfolds. Each week I’ll share what I’m painting, what’s new in the art shop, and updates about staying in the Airstream.
